Keep America Beautiful

A Good Idea

Description

Keep America Beautiful (KAB) is a national program that helps prevent litter, reduce waste, and beautify communities throughout the United States.

KAB runs various programs that are guided by the principles of education, individual responsibility, public-private partnership, and volunteer action. One of KAB's programs, Great American Cleanup, encourages individuals to volunteer their time to clean and beautify their neighborhoods, parks and recreation areas, and seashores and waterways. Another program, Graffiti Hurts, focuses on educating people about graffiti and addressing community-based solutions for graffiti abatement and prevention. Finally, Clean Sweep U.S.A. is an educational website designed to supplement environmental education curriculum in middle schools.

Goal / Mission

The goal of Keep America Beautiful is to coordinate and empower local communities to prevent litter, reduce waste, and beautify communities.
